Dispute over ‘sentimental’ liturgy at closing Mass of Eucharistic Congress : News Headlines – Catholic Culture.
“Father Kevin Doran, the chief organizer of the Eucharistic Congress, charged that there was “a lot of loose language” in Msgr. Wadsworth’s comments were aimed more at the teachings of Vatican II than at the particular liturgy” What teachings of Vatican II? From what I have gathered Vatican II was not a dogmatic council. Vatican II didn’t introduce any new teachings it just changed some of the ways we do business in the Church.
That is very true: Vatican II was a pastoral council. He seems to be conflating the novelties that crept into the Novus Ordo Mass to Vatican II itself which is not responsible for poor liturgy.
